A lot of people say that this was the last GREAT episode ever produced in the GAH series. While that is an interesting concept, I want to know what you all think about the episode and Pam's role in it. As usual, I have several comments to make, but I hate to steal the thunder EVERY time. Tell us what you think of Pam in this episode.

I really like Pam in this episode, there WAS some good involvement of her character in the whole episode, including the finding of the communicator, her drive to Palmdale, and her hot-dogging the Nazis. However. . .I think she should have been taken up in the spaceship. She never really got taken up in the spaceship until . . .GAHeroine. . .

I think the spaceship is what bothers me most. If they think she is THAT much a part of the team to kidnap her, why is she NOT taken up? They could have put Ralph in stasis and waited. If she was not important enough to take up, why bring her out there at all?

Were they married by then? Even if they weren't they were close enough that she should have been involved and they should have taken her up too.

If she was not important enough to take up, why bring her out there at all? I've always wondered it too, as if they didn't, it alludes that they decided Pam would probably panic seeing Ralph in the chamber being healed. The scene did look a bit scary if you really look at it. Ralph's being bent oddly to remove the bullet and be healed. Good thing he was put into stasis (he was put in it, not just anesthetized or something) for that reason. (But this whole bit's now got me arguing about points in Vanity, but I digress on that issue) Another reason, they might've wanted a *cough* third string referee to keep Bill and Ralph in line after being beamed back as Ralph now had a second instruction book and knew they'd probably argue over it.

You would think that since Bill and Ralph had just been TAUGHT why it was so important...then they would not have needed an umpire. They should have learned. As for Pam, all it did was ruin her car...not real helpful.

Yep, instead you have Pam refereeing twice: once with the book and once in the weiner wagon looking at the gun shop. And... I have to admit it was funny seeing Ralph shake his hand after knocking out the guy without the suit's help. He managed to ring Tony's bell a little bit in the pilot, so why did it hurt him giving a hard punch? (him wearing gloves or being a wuss don't count. ) As far as Pam, I love the bit with the "Hold it, freeze your face" bit. It's the best line in the whole ep and I love it too when she starts to give Bill the guns with the barrel pointed at Bill. Probably made him realize that she could be deadly if need be ( )

Well, gloves DO lessen the impact so that is a possible. Probably, Ralph had just gotten used to NOT boxing and such and that made him less capable of judging another person's face for how hard it MIGHT be.

True, and as we've seen on TV (and I'm sure it's true in reality), some people are more difficult to injure/knock out than others. As far as Pam's car... how did she get the flat tires? Only thing I can think of is that the greenguys didn't miss nails, box fans, ladders (don't laugh, the latter two have flattened a tire), etc. on the road, but why were other things damaged? The poor beetle, as star in its own right, as it saw a lot of action, even more so than Ralph's stationwagon.

I think it is meant to imply that her car was going so fast that the rubber was peeled off the tires and that is why it needed towing.

Unless the tread was peeled off, there would still be rubber on the tires. Pam's car clearly had them, not just the rims. Still, given all the stuff I've seen in the middle of the road (above mentioned plus a couch, a cow, deer, wolf, longhorn, porcupine, snake, racoon, gopher rat...) it was a possibility that Pam's car got hit by a boxfan while the greenguys had control of it and go the flats that way.

I don't know. I think if they can cause gas to pump itself and cop cars to stall at full speed, I think they could swerve a foot to the right to make sure nothing happened to the car she was in. They wouldn't take THAT risk, I doubt.

Had to run over the ladder because of traffic, but I agree with the others. Also, what's funny is that by appearances, the stock footage of the sailors getting off the ship appears to have them going down into the ship. This is funny, as after visiting two big ships in the state (Lexington and Texas) the bunks are below main deck. I also like how Pam and them are going through the sand to try to find the book. The argument the three have is too funny.

Maybe her car just got stuck in the sand.

Yeah, that quick sand sure is tricky. Then again, I've gotten stuck in so many strange things (well, the same drainage ditch with two different cars, one each semester my first year in college. The first time... my very first day in college) That nothing would faze me that much.
But seriously, that could be possible with Pam's car. The heat could've blown out hte tires as well in the hot desert and sand. The engine could've been choked too from too much sand in the valves. Who knows?
