Yes, but SOMEHOW the magic weiner wagon wasn't affected? I think you two are forcing that.

Yes... but the magic weiner wagon wasn't out in the Palmdale desert for a day and a night. It was driven to the bad guy's location. Pam's car was, however so all the heat in the hot desert could blow out the tires.

Why didn't they take BOTH? The way the plot was set up is that Pam's car was broken down, which is why they HAD to take the weiner wagon...and why at the end, Bill is offering to pay the tires.

Conveniant plot point to get them back in the desert so Ralph could shrink himself and lose the instruction book again. Speaking of which, that short cape in that scene looks terrible. Only thing worse was the one piece style on Holly and the shiny side out of the suit Katt wore as Ralph in "GAHeroine."

Only thing worse was the one piece style on Holly and the shiny side out of the suit Katt wore as Ralph in "GAHeroine." I doubt it was for convenience. After all, Bill was always having Ralph practice out in the desert, so they would have ended back out there anyway.

OK, well maybe they just wanted to be silly and have another joke at Pam's bug's expense. Other than Ralph trashing Bill's car, the bug was the other one that really received the dumb car jokes. The stationwagon was the only one that escaped most of those jokes.

Mainly because they rarely used it. You never see anything happen to it except Tony.

I have to admit it was funny to see the Pirhana be Pam and Ralph's go away on their honeymoon car. Then again, if they only had the bug or the stationwagon as their other options... I'd take Tony's car myself. What I did find a little too conveniant in this was how he lost the book. I mean, wouldn't it dawn on Ralph that he was the size of a grain of sand when Pam and Bill are too large? Unless he thought they turned into giants, which shouldn't happen with him in the suit.

Well, I personally LOVE the bug! I really really do. I know that the new VW bug is popular now, and the old VW bug is very retro, and in the early 80s was a bit of a joke car. Add to the joke that it's a high powered lawyer driving it, and yes, jokes galore. But I just love love love VW bugs. Always have.
So you all must know how I felt about Bill's car in Three Ring Circus...
Gotta say, I always liked Pam's choice in cars... if not in men... sorry Hinkley Homeys, but methinks she made the wrong choice... [/tt][/size]

Personally, I think she did make the right choice with Ralph, but I'm a Hinkley Homie (always have been since I first watched it in '81.) I thought it was too funny when Bill's bug gets sat on by the elephant. The tires splaying like they did was too funny as well. Personally, I like bugs as well. It wasn't a good match for a wedding though, so out of the other two choices, I'd say Tony's worked the best. Bad enough poor Pam doesn't even get a proper wedding (at least at the moment), it'd been worse if she had to ride in her dress in the stationwagon. I could also go on forever about the who wedding scene, but I'm going to hold off on it for "The Newlywed Game" thread... or if no, will make it myself.

Pam did make the wrong choice. She hung out with two losers. As for Ralph and the book...if you remember HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU, KID, Ralph was prone to stay invisible longer than a few moments, so he probably thought the same with the shrinking.

This was NOT a good Pam episode overall, which is too bad, because it was a great episode overall.
She starts out as a cab service for Ralph and is then called an ambulance chaser while looking for Ralph. She finds the communicator, but doesn't get any answer. Then, she is kidnapped by the greenguys...and doesn't even get taken up to the ship! Why bring her along at all is my question? They could have teamed up with her the next day when they went after the Nazis.
I hate how Pam is scared of her car kidnapping her, but doesn't care why the ship is there or why she saw Bill and Ralph beamed down. Why does she care more about her car than anything else?
I like how she got some light fieldwork, although she is not very gun handy as shown by pointing the guns at Bill. Even then, she was caught collecting the guns and had to be saved by Ralph. The whole damsel in distress bit got tiresome.
She was still the peacemaker and the logical one of the bunch though. She realized that the suit had to be used to read the book and was the one who advocated reading the book first before trying anything too crazy. Again, the boys didn't listen and they lost another book.
Again, a great episode, but not a great PAM episode, which is a shame. She had a lot of potential here.

Originally Pam would have gotten more screen time in DVS. However it really wouldn't have been her. In an early draft of the script a greenguy takes the form of Pam when meeting Ralph and Bill. This is because the alien feels it's real form may be disturbing to the duo if it were to been seen.
At least Pam wasn't kidnapped or in danger to the extent some female characters were in other series.
