I don't know if I have mentioned this, but I think one reason the show was so successful is because they had this beautiful woman as a part of the pilot...and then incorporated her into the rest of the show...even around her pregnancy. It wasn't your MIAMI VICE or anything where it was the men who were main credit actors. She earned the role well.
In fact, she is the one that starts putting two and two together about the Vice President and Bill starts connecting dots. Then, she gets the idea that Ralph should stop the President and such. Makes you wonder if she got any acclaim from the arrests since Bill did. After all, she was there when the cops got there. Might have set her up with the position in the BEST DESK SCENARIO.

I think she should have received SOME of the credit. . .

I have always wondered why she didn't. You think the cops would have noticed her there...and maybe SHE did and we just did not hear about it because Tony was focused on the nuts in the paper...plus, he had not really MET Pam yet.

ANOTHER great missing scene for MelMac...I could be her inspiration for YEARS to come.

He's given me a loooooooooonnnnnnggggg list (No, I'm not exaggerating) of ideas for potential missing scenes (and only one duff one, as billswoman's already got that and I'm not going to delve in that what happened issue strictly for it.) But, I've got four stories that are either in final proofing stages or are WIPs that I want to finish first, so the MScenes are on the backburner currently. And that's pretty much after I get a new FT job. The one debatable issue in Pam's role in this episode is that she faints after Ralph lifts up the car. I'll admit it's a shock and works fine for this story, why only her and only this one episode? This never happens again in the series with anyone. Why not some Average Joe who's a mechanic or something see him do that and have the same reaction? Sorry, despite the fact we women are more prone to fainting, men do react that way too to things way out of the norm. And... Connie's terrific in this because she proved to SJC that she was a great character to have instead of the flavor of the week. Also showed she was an excellent actress/comedianne that he was willing to work around her pregnancy instead of recasting the role. It was a smart choice in the long run, even with the episodes you can tell she was pregnant.

I think Bill didn't faint because he had Ralph there when the spaceship came so he knew he wasn't going around the bend...at least by himself. Then, when Ralph saved him, he was scared to death of the nuts with shaved heads...and that got him to thinking about how Ralph needed to get him out of there. After that, he had seen it work and knew it to be true. Pam did not have these moments because she did not see the ship until later (which she handled well considering it was more monumental than the suit) and when Ralph surprised her, she had no one to share the discovery with.

True, nor did I expect Bill to react that way. I meant just some average joe who saw Ralph take flight again after crashing or something along those lines. Pam's I had no problem with for the reason you mentioned either, but that was the only time and why I mentioned it.

Ralph and Pam's relationship was announced but undefined, which made it very strange.

Actually, that is one of the things my students pick up on when watching it. They find it very unprofessional starting off that she tells him to "kiss Kevin" and stuff AND is her lawyer. I have to say that I find it strange too...and had I been her boss, I would have never allowed it to progress while she was working on his divorce case. Maybe THAT is why Ralph lost Kevin.

Okay, let me elaborate on my last comment.
Ralph and Pam's relationship was undefined. We knew it had romantic indications, but those seemed strained (from "Kiss Kevin for me" to "I think I have a heavy emotional stake in your future"--um, ya think?) While Pam's participation was on target for the most part, and it clearly showed yes, she is part of this team, the writers could have thought out her relationship with Ralph a little more.

I think we see it pretty much right away with HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU, KID though. Remember, SJC has said that Pam was going to be the girlfriend of the moment for a while, but AFTER the pilot, he saw how funny she was and such and decided to keep her. Maybe that is why it was ambiguous for the pilot, but NOT the rest of the series.

Yeah. It really WOULD have sucked if they'd have taken her out, wouldn't it?
It would have gotten cancelled almost as soon as they'd let her go.
