I am also a HUGE fan of MacGyver, but I don't know how well her character would work here either. I think she could have easily played the Pete role because although Dana Elcar was great, I think Pam could have played off MacGyver better...maybe even some chemistry there. Otherwise, I think she would have to be episode specific again, dealing with trial episodes and the like...or even being one of MacGyver's many women. I think she would have done better than Teri Hatcher, but I don't think she could have played someone as dim-witted...which is probably a good reason to NOT cast her as Penny Parker. It would be interesting to see an episode where Pam and MacGyver team up on some cause or another and have her suggest ideas or tweaks to his ideas to get out of jams. I am ALL about girl power.

I think one of the best episodes that she'd fit in was the one with the grail. That one is one of my favorites of the series (even if it was slightly out of the norm of the series). Even though she'd been kidnapped after Mac is strapped to the pendulum, I think she'd put up a fight then to help out Mac. Then, it would've been even sweeter to have her bean the woman bad guy afterward.
Other than the rough stuff, she'd also work well as far as figureing out the clues. Mac seemed to know them more than the archaeologist, but Pam'd figure them out and help him not let him figure it out on his own.
Pam would also work out well when Mac had to face Murdock, such as figuring out his disguises and the sort, I think.
And... I think Teri Hatcher was OK, but she was best in "Lois and Clark." I don't even like her in the role on "Desparate Housewives."

I think Teri did great as Penny Parker...I liked how she was sweet and innocent and they tried to protect that...even after she fell for Murdoc. I think Pam would have worked great in THE HOLY ROSE...the episode you mentioned, MelMac. I think she would have been a good companion on ANY of those sort of episodes...maybe even as a lady in GOOD KNIGHT, MACGYVER when he goes to Camelot. Maybe she should have been a recurring character like Jack Dalton was...an old friend of MacGyver's that randomly showed up...I think that would have helped story lines instead of engineering new friends for him a lot.

Yeah, who can forget Jack Dalton and his faking his own death... only to falter because of that darn twitch he had when he was lying. (BTW, I'm terrible at titles on MacGyver, so please bear with me. ) Now, the Camelot one... I don't know. I can't see her calling Mac "Angus" (of all the names for him to really have. No wonder he likes Mac. BTW, did he lose his memory in regards to his true name and just went by Mac? I forgot). I really didn't notice them creating friends until the last season with Mama and the other guy. That one seemed too forced, Mac didn't seem to really have the true bachelor style with the loft, and Pete was really missing in those stories. No wonder it didn't last after that season.

Well, it HAD been on for six pretty full seasons...and Dana Elcar was going blind, so I imagine the cast thought it might be time to move on. Jack actually faked his death twice...both times in the second season in his first two appearances. He never forgot his name...he just always went by Mac or MacGyver. The Camelot one is where we find out his name his Angus. Mama Colton comes in either the fifth or sixth season, but the Colton boys have been recurring characters since the fourth season. I think Pam would have made a good recurring character to come back...maybe being an archaeologist herself or being a Phoenix lawyer accompanying MacGyver to make sure he wasn't a lawbreaker. I think she would have made a good addition to show, but only at certain times.

Yeah, there were a few that could be a problem with Pam there, and I have a sinking feeling now upon rethinking that Pam would've been the person who was kept hostage when Murdoc was around. Same goes with the hypnosis episode (The one with the diplomat and the star medal. Dalton and Pete were both brainwashed to shoot anyone with the medal. Jack gets snapped out of it using the mirrors of multiple MacGyvers). She'd probably had been the other potential assassin. Otherwise, she'd fit in a majority of them.

Well, even Penny Parker was kidnapped by Murdoc: Twice as I recall...and Pete at least once too.
