I can't believe there is no thread dedicated to this wonderful episode yet. I loved it! It has humor and great character renditions from our trio. I especially love Pam in her role...she tries to capitalize on her "not being a member of the team" only to have Bill inform her that she is...and then she uses it AGAINST him the rest of the series. GREAT. Of course, she is on call to give a great house to hide out in for Starlette...and does great work getting there in time. She helps get Starlette safely to court too. Sadly, while this episode is great, it is not great for Pam. This is the first appearance of her jealousy...and it continues to grow and linger the whole series unfortunately. Plus, she does very little with the takedown. Yes, she performs a vital service keeping the kids out of the way, but she could have done more in the take down and she was not given the opportunity...a nasty precedent.

I like this episode in that Pam does still help out a lot in the story, if not the actual take down the bad guys here. She helps out with rehearsals for the kids, and I think personally, it might've helped them actually get interested in "The Taming of the Shrew." The kids didn't always listen to Ralph, but Pam was just as no nonsense, but not Ralph. I think in this case the jealousy was a good thing, as it made her real. Ralph's jealousy did seem more forced save "Classical Gas," but in that case he was right to be because he was also very suspicious. I think in this case Pam had the same negative vibe in addition to the jealousy, and she was right. Pam also showed she was stronger after Bill was hurt at the courthouse. Ralph's acting a bit squeamish if not faint, and here Pam's just like, "We'll help get you to the hospital" but is still concerned for Bill. It shows too that she does care for him as well, though she never lets him truly know it (and I mean this as friendship. ) I have to admit reading this makes me want to see the ep again. Haven't in a while.

I personally like the moment she and Bill had in the kitchen. . .
even if it WAS over a box of dog biscuits "so stale they would float in a tub of spit forever." ;D

Well, this is one of my favorite episodes. But if I have to think specifically of Pam, I think that this set her up as a third string utility who could get the job done. Imagine calling someone up in the middle of the night and saying "Can we stay at your house tonight...? I'll come by for the key."
I do have to agree with Bill though... bring a bag of chips with you, will ya? On the other hand, this does set up the dog biscuit eating. So we do have Pam to thank for that one.
Thanks, counselor!

Pam's performance in this episode was phenomenal. Except for one thing.
I wish she'd have decked the crap out of Starlette.

A nice fight in their nighties WOULD have been fun.

You must go in time out.
Put your hands on the cricket.
(Daycare. . .the first one I worked at, in the toddler room there was a colored picture on the wall of a grasshopper. This was time out. My sister would get frustrated with a kid who was misbehaving, and send them to time out, to put their hands on the "cricket". It was funny.)

I can still dream...hands on the cricket or not, you know. It was a fun dynamic, but still one that pigeon-holed Pam entirely too much as the series progressed.

When it should have taken her in the other direction and let her try the suit at least once. . . *Pout*
