What did you do on Easter weekend when you were little? What do you do now? Do you miss some of the old traditions you had when you were a kid, or do you enjoy the new traditions you have now? Let us hear all about them this weekend. Have a great and safe Easter!

I hunted Easter eggs with my family until I was a sophomore in high school. It was a lot of fun, except the time the neighbor's dogs decided to go hunting with us and ate one of the plastic eggs. When I was a sophomore in college, I started hunting Easter eggs with my younger cousin, and she always beat me. But, it was fun to hunt with her because it made me feel like a kid again. One big tradition of course it going to church for the service. We'd all be wearing our new outfits (which always seemed to include a high collar, which I dislike), and would go to the early service. For a long time, we used to always get an Easter lily for the church, but haven't done that lately. Then, we'd go home for dinner and Mom and Dad would hide the Eggs in the front yard for us to find. This year's was odd because we went to a baseball game Saturday, but even there it had a bit of humor to it because I got to give a high five to Junction Jack, who is the Astros' mascot. He's a rabbit, and this year is wearing Astros garb instead of his traditional overalls and engineer hat. Would've fit in more with the humor if he was wearing the latter outfit... especially since he was created for Minute Maid Park, which is near an old train station. Still, it was quite funny.

I used to go on Easter egg hunts with my sister, but we have not done THOSE for years. Now, we usually help hide them for the little kids and the like. The joy is in being with the family for me...not in anything else about this originally pagan holiday.
