I noticed something odd happening this summer one day while watching television. I have been collecting dozens of movies and several seasons worth of great television on DVD...as you can read in another thread. But, one night I was actually watching television for some odd reason or another...and I realized that this fall was going to be REALLY different. I was actually going to have a television schedule for television!!! Mondays: From 7pm to 7:30pm HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER *CBS* From 7:30pm to 8pm THE CLASS *CBS* From 8pm to 9pm HEROES *NBC* Tuesdays: From 7pm to 8pm HOUSE, M.D. *FOX* (not all the time but it is a show I enjoy when I catch it). Wednesdays: From 7pm to 8pm JERICHO *CBS* The rest of the nights I have to work or watch my DVD collections. I do love these shows and when rerun time comes around I might watch a couple of others on Mondays...the busy night for me. Close Monday runner-ups: TWO AND A HALF MEN *CBS* and STUDIO SIXTY ON THE SUNSET STRIP *NBC* I have seen some of both. What are YOUR definite go-to shows...ones that are still being made...none of that FRIENDS in syndication stuff.

My new show that I am striving to watch for a while: RAINES. It stars Jeff Goldblum and he is a detective that can see dead people. Sort of a comedic mix to me between MONK and the SIXTH SENSE.

This is such an outdated post. Who actually watches TV in real-time anymore?

LOL, good point!
I remember growing up with only three stations, and no VCR. I had to be in front of the TV at the time the show was on, or I wouldn't see it again anytime soon. And remember those pesky commercial breaks? Ugggh! And now there's even more of those if someone actually watches TV in real time.

We had a VCR, but I couldn't record everything I wanted. We finally got a second channel, but it was tough all around to see the good shows.

But we were fine with what we had back then, and we appreciated what we had. The kids of today are spoiled. My nephew has an iPad and he's only 5! And nowadays most people who have cable have, like, a million channels (most of which they don't watch). Lol Sometimes I actually yearn for those simpler times. Which is part of the reason why I find it relaxing and enjoyable to re-watch the shows from the 70s and 80s.
